Early Leaf Protection Devices
Over ten years ago, when leaf protection devices first appeared on the market, they were introduced to keep leaves out of the gutter and help you avoid the messy job of cleaning out rotting fall debris. Basically, this was a good idea; prevent loved ones or hired workers from falling off ladders, save annual clean-up costs, and protect your home from the damage that clogged gutters can cause.
It turns out, however, that a modern leaf protection device can and must do much more for you than just keep the leaves out; it must provide real protection from the elements all-year round. Regrettably, all systems other than GUTTERMONSTER® were designed long ago and never benefited, as we did, from the experiences of the early users. Screens clog and deteriorate in the sun, and poorly bracketed metal systems are inadequate for heavy snow, ice, and debris loads.
In fact, many so-called gutter protection systems may themselves actually cause water damage if they are inappropriately installed or interfere with the performance of the existing roof-gutter system.
